To be honest, when we first received this job, our technical team also studied it carefully.
For the customer's product, the inner hole diameter is only 0.1mm. What's the concept? Thinner than a hair! But it's such a small hole, and there are burrs in it. What can you do?

Don't think that burrs are trivial. Now put the product under the microscope and take a look. Good guy, the burrs are clear and eye-catching. This kind of accuracy requirement, let alone the customer can't accept it, we don't think it can be done after seeing it ourselves.

To be honest, the traditional manual polishing method was not practical. The 0.1mm micro-hole tool could not be inserted at all. Even if it could barely be operated, how long would it take to grind a hole?
So it can't be done by hand, it must be polished by abrasive flow.
What is abrasive flow polishing? Simply put, it uses a special abrasive to flow through the inner hole of the product like "water". Don't look at it as a fluid, the abrasive particles inside are very fine, specially designed to deal with this tiny burr. The fluid can flow to places where the tool cannot reach, and the burr is evenly and repeatedly ground off little by little.

How is the effect? We speak with a microscope.

The burrs in the inner hole are removed and the edges are rounded. As soon as the two pictures are compared, the customer is directly relieved - the burrs are clean and the surface of the inner hole is smooth and flat, which fully meets the customer's requirements.

To be honest, this feeling of speaking with results is more convincing than anything else. Customers look at it themselves and say: If they knew there was this technology, they wouldn't have to be torn for so long.
But we didn't just want to solve the problem this time. After a deep chat with the customer, we helped him plan a follow-up plan: to make a special tooling.
After having the tooling, the same product in the future can be polished several at the same time without throwing it one by one. What do you mean? It means that the work that might take half a day to finish may be done in an hour in the future.
